"Helping people of all ages move closer to God by becoming fully-committed followers of Christ and His Church."

It is our goal to bring people closer to God through music and worship on a weekly basis. On Sunday morning, we sing a blended style of worship music containing traditional and contemporary songs. The traditional songs that we sing are the songs that have been influential in moving and changing the hearts of individuals in the past decades and even centuries. These songs that come out of the hymnal tell us the story of God's love for us through the gift of His Son Jesus Christ. When a man tears up as he is singing "The Old Rugged Cross," you know that the words and melody of that song have pierced the depths of his heart and soul. We do not believe in the saying, "in with the new, out with the old" when it comes to worship here at First Church of God. Written by great hymn writers of our past such as Barney E. Warren and Fanny J. Crosby, these timeless hymns have not only been a central part of worship in generations past, they will continue to be a central part of worship for generations to come. We also sing new and exciting songs of praise! Contemporary worship music has exploded in recent years and has spoken God's love for us to a new and rising generation of Christians. These songs have brought revival to a generation of Christians who are continually facing new challenges from the secular world, as science and pop culture continue to drive people away from a Christ centered frame of heart. With worship writers such as Chris Tomlin, Matt Redman, Paul Baloche, Robin Mark, Vineyard Worship, Hillsong Worship, David Crowder Band, and so many more, God has blessed us with an abundance of songs and choruses to choose from to sing to Him. Come and join us for worship this Sunday morning at 10:30am!
