Below are ways in which you can be a part of the music ministry at Miamisburg First Church of God. If you are not involved in a ministry in the church, this is a great way to get involved and to get to know people! There are many avenues that you may choose from in getting involved so read each description and pray that God might direct you to one of the areas in this ministry! It is our desire to bring all people closer to God through worship but we can't do it alone! We currently have a dedicated and loving group of individuals who have a heart for worship and a heart to serve God. We strive to grow in all areas of the music ministry so that we can make more of an impact on the church, individual hearts, and the community!

The Worship Team consists of a small group of singers who assist the worship leader on stage in leading worship for the congregation on a weekly basis. Anywhere from four to eight individuals participate to set the example by which the rest of the congregation can worship. Also, many songs are filled with beautiful harmonies that the worship team can utilize to make beautiful music for our Lord! The worship team meets every Thursday night at 7:00PM (except before the third Sunday of the month) and then again for sound check at 8:45AM on Sunday morning.

The Choir leads worship for the congregation on the third Sunday of every month. We meet for practice on the Thursday night before the third Sunday of the month from 7pm-8pm. The choir meets again on the Sunday they sing at 8:45am for sound check. The choir also works hard to perform special songs and musicals. This is one area that we would especially like to see grow, so if you have a heart to sing and worship Christ, we'd love to have you join us!

This is for someone who is either more technically minded with sound and computers or does not want to be on stage but wants to make a difference in the life of the church. If you are clueless to working a sound board (most people are), then there are a number of individuals that will work with you for 1 on 1 training! Our group of dedicated sound board and PowerPoint technicians are vital in balancing the sounds of the different microphones and instruments, and operating the slides with the words to the songs during congregational worship. These people also record the service so that others who could not attend, or those who want to hear the sermon again can get a copy. 

This is one of the most vital roles in the music ministry and we would love to see more and more people willing to learn the equipment and help on Sundays. Currently we have three rotations of individuals that trade off weeks and any one of them would be glad to "show you the ropes!"
